Senior Enterprise Architecture Marketing Manager, Cisco Systems, Inc.

Matthew Stein is a senior Enterprise Architect Marketing Manager for Enterprise Solutions at Cisco Systems. In his role, he defines and develops Enterprise Architecture solutions for the enterprise market that spans multiple networking, application, and collaboration technologies and drives business growth, performance and IT efficiencies.

Stein has previously worked in the Data Center architecture team helping to create Cisco's first Data Center architecture strategy. This included the strategy for storage, switching and advanced Data Center Services. Previously Stein was part of the Wireless Networking Business Unit of Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for leading the development and marketing integration of Enterprise networking solutions for the Cisco Aironet Wireless local area network (LAN). Stein also designed and oversaw construction of the Cisco Wireless Integrated Network Solutions EBC (WINS) that to this day provides Cisco customers the ability to view and test their new wireless LAN applications with Cisco's industry leading equipment. As an expert in wireless clients, Voice over IP, bridging, and access points, Stein has written several design guides and has also presented on behalf of Cisco technology at numerous shows including Network Interop, Gartner IT Exp, and Comdex.

Prior to joining Cisco Systems in May 2000, Stein served as a database design system engineer for GE Lighting. Stein was also a biomedical engineer for the Center for Brain Imaging at the Medical College of Wisconsin writing artificial intelligent pattern recognition genetic sequencing software.

Stein received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University with an emphasis on Radio Frequency (RF) and digital system design with minors in Computer Engineering, Economics and Russian & French Literature.
