Oh, the weather outside is still frightful, especially with the recent nor’easter that’s sweeping through; nevertheless, college students across the country are preparing to head back to school after a long winter break. In the coming weeks, college campuses will reopen and Spring semester classes will begin. Your children may not miss you right away because let’s face it, spending weeks with your family during the college years is tough on any student. After a while though, they’ll yearn to see your face, and with an empty nest, you’ll yearn to see theirs, too.

Did anyone have the opportunity to see Cisco ūmi’s introduction on The Oprah Winfrey Show on November 3rd? If not, we’ve got a quick recap!

Last month, Oprah and her best friend Gayle used Cisco ūmi to reconnect with the people they met on their camping trip to Yosemite National Park. With ūmi, Oprah and Gayle engaged with two families, eight members in each family sitting on sofas in their living rooms. Eight people captured on one telepresence camera? You bet! Not only did the families fit nicely on the TV’s flat screen, but they showed up in high-def!

We look forward to the day when a mother can connect with her son in Afghanistan or a father can see his baby girl for the first time, all with the help of Cisco ūmi. They say pictures last longer, but we believe the memory of seeing and talking to loved ones whom you haven’t seen in months is invaluable and unforgettable.
