Jim Fenton is a Distinguished Engineer in Cisco's Corporate Development Technology Group. Jim is responsible for defining a number of new initiatives relating to user-centric identity, email security, and other issues impacting trust on the Internet. He is an active member of the design team for DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), an IETF standards-track specification for signature-based email authentication.
He has also recently been responsible for defining several router-based security initiatives. In previous roles at Cisco, Jim has managed development efforts relating to VoIP features for service providers, store-and-forward fax, and was a key member of the team that established Cisco in the dial access market.
Jim came to Cisco from the acquisition of Combinet, Inc., where he was Director of Technology. Jim has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
