Frances Dare

Frances V. Dare is director in the healthcare consulting practice for the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG). She brings more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience to IBSG. Ms. Dare works with major customers to transform their organizations through intelligently applied advanced technologies and business process innovations. Her clients include the Mexican Ministry of Health, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, the Chilean Ministry of Health, and many others. She also co-leads Cisco's healthcare policy initiatives to promote legislation and regulations that support industry transformation and IT adoption.

Prior to joining Cisco, Dare was vice president for EDS' healthcare global industry group;responsible for the growth of global healthcare markets. She began her healthcare career in strategic planning and marketing for St. Joseph Healthcare Corporation, a diversified, not-for-profit healthcare system. While at St. Joseph Dare and her team increased referrals from regional physicians while developing innovative services and quality programs. She has held a variety of leadership roles in healthcare organizations including serving as Vice President of the New Mexico Hospital Association (NMHA).

A current research focus is effective ways to engage consumers with on-line health services and information. Dare is also working to develop unique approaches and technologies that bring physicians in small practices on-line to improve care quality and collaboration.

Her consulting clients have included the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Veterans Health Administration, and the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department. She has lived and worked internationally, with extensive experience in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dare holds a bachelor's degree from Stephens College (summa cum laude) and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
