Eric Perkins

Eric is a native of Longmont, CO and currently resides near Washington, DC. After High School, Eric joined the United States Marine Corps where he was first introduced to Cisco. He knew networking was what he wanted to do after building a network on a remote Japanese island in the middle of the night and pouring rain…there was no greater satisfaction than seeing those first successful pings using communications gear from nearly every decade the Corps had been in existence. Throughout his military career, Eric made a name for himself as a subject matter expert in networking the Marine Corps way, earning numerous medals and awards in the process After eight years, Eric left active service and moved to the DC area. Since then, Eric has added to his toolkit of expertise, particularly in virtualization and multi-tenancy. Eric soon turned his attention toward the Data Center, and has been there since. He is currently focused in IT orchestration, elastic utility based service models, and next generation enterprise architectures.

Eric recently earned his Master’s Degree in Information Systems and Technology from The George Washington University School of Business, and is currently pursuing a CCIE Data Center certification.
