I finally have a free enough morning to be able to author this blog post, which has been sitting on the to do list for months. As you might imagine, we get many more requests for UCS briefings from than we are able to accommodate. This is my attempt to offer a first product briefing — in other words, an industry analyst’s introduction to UCS. It explains the products, the components therein and offers pointers to the business literature available online. This post is intended to succinctly show why the five-plus years investment in UCS development has resulted in new network- and workload-aware paradigm for unified computing — in the form of an industry-standard product that cannot be rivaled by any other compute or network platform from any vendor:
