Cisco IP NGN Becomes Even More End to End

- February 9, 2010 - 0 Comments

The Cisco end-to-end IP NGN just became even more comprehensive.

Thanks to the acquisition of Starent.

Cisco has expanded the ASR Series platforms with the ASR 5000, as a result of the Starent purchase finalized just before Christmas.  The ASR 5000 gives Cisco an even better IP NGN offering for mobile operators, who are struggling to deal with exploding mobile Internet traffic, multimedia applications and demanding consumers.

How?  Well, the Cisco mobile Internet network architecture increases network and customer intelligence, offers world-class performance in each component, and allows service providers to utilize Cisco networking expertise throughout 3G/4G mobile networks — from cell site to packet core to data center.  Oh, by the way, the result will be faster mobile Internet speeds and more seamless mobile multimedia experiences for users.

Cisco also introduced a new unified reporting system for the ASR 5000, providing mobile operators with a comprehensive set of reporting and management tools that help them optimize network performance, offer customized services and improve the mobile consumer experience.
