The ASR 5500 is purpose-built to maximize performance of the proven software shared across the ASR 5000 family, resulting in massive increases in throughput — scaling from hundreds of gigabits to the industry’s only terabit performance platform — scale and number of sessions supported.  The ASR 5500 is also the only elastic packet core solution capable of integrating signaling, data and in-line services within a single platform.

Not least, the ASR 5500 greatly improves network economy, with as much as a 45-percent reduction in operational expenditures and as much as a 55-percent reduction in footprint from the nearest competing product.
